In addition to providing in-home Grandfather clock repair for Arlington Texas, I also cover the greater Dallas and Ft. Worth areas as well as the surrounding counties. Pick-up and delivery for other clock repair is only available for the Arlington, Mansfield and Kennedale areas. Call for rates and scheduling. All work is by appointment only.
Although I accept clocks shipped to me from locations
outside my normal service area, due to the risk of transit
damage, I do not advocate that procedure. So how
do you go about locating someone qualified in your own
area? I recommend using the following steps.
Find out if the person in question is a member of and are they certified by the American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute. Certification is a good sign that the person in question has the necessary skills and knowledge to do the clock repair properly. You can find their directory in my links section.
Ask how long they have been repairing clocks and what type of guarantee they provide.
Can they provide references of their work?
Do they explain the work that needs to be done in easy to understand terminology?
Is it possible to visit their shop and see some of the work in progress?
There is no one factor that confirms you've made the right choice for your clock repair so ask questions. Most clock repairmen with the ability to do the job right will not shy away from answering your inquires. They will have nothing to hide. Be cautious of anyone that appears to avoid or misdirects your questions.
