In addition to providing in-home Grandfather clock repair for Arlington Texas, I also cover the greater Dallas and Fort Worth areas as well as the surrounding counties. Pick-up and delivery for other clock repair is only available for the Arlington, Mansfield and Kennedale areas. Call for rates and scheduling. All work is by appointment only.
Guidelines
1. Estimates provided in-shop are done free of charge. Simply call or email to schedule an appointment.
2. Due to space limitations and other factors, I do not allow grandfather clocks to be brought in for estimates. I understand the desire to know what is wrong with no cost to you, but in many instances, transporting the clock might mask the origin of the problem if it just needed a minor adjustment. Transporting the clock always risks damage as well. It is best to schedule an in-home service call so I can provide any minor service without moving the clock. If in-shop service is needed, I simply bring in the movement with the weights and pendulum.
3. I assume no responsibility for your winding key so please leave it at home. I have my own keys I use for winding in the shop and I will not pay for a new key for anyone that "swears it was in the clock when we left it for repair".
4. If your clock has any pieces or ornamentation that are designed to be removeable such as crown sections or finials, please keep those as well. They are not needed for the repair.
5. Remove the pendulum for transporting your clock or be sure it is securely taped in place. If you're unsure of how to safely transport your clock, be sure to ask for instructions when you contact me. Many clocks have specialized devices built in to facilitate proper transport.
6. When you are given an estimate, I will also give you an approximate time of completion. Please understand that it may sometimes be necessary to keep your clock longer than originally intended in order to be sure that all problems have been addressed.
7. Everyone's situation is different, so if you are not familiar with how to properly operate your clock once you have it back home, please let me know when you pick it up so we can go over the correct procedures together. This will insure that you can start enjoying your clock again right away.
